Wood for public pick up
Wood piles of Salt Cedar, Russian Olive, and Siberian Elm trees will be available for public pick up at the NM State Forestry Bosque Thinning Project sites in Jarales. All piled logs are available to be picked up. Wood chips that are in piles are also available for pick up.
Permits are required. Permits can be picked up at no cost on Monday April 18:
MRGCD Belen Division Office - 25 General E Baca Rd, Belen 8:00am to 4:30pm
Valencia County Fire Administration Office - 444 Luna Ave. Los Lunas 8:00am to 4:30pm
Middle Rio Grande Conservancy Patrol Officers will be in the area. You will need your permit to enter. Each permit is good for one truck load of logs or wood chips. No trailers are allowed.
WHEN: Friday April 22 - 9:00 AM -12:30 PM (weather permitting)
WHERE: Enter at North Gate next to 85 Jarales Rd and go North on Levee Rd to project sites.
