Change of Address

To make address changes for your property taxes, the new address needs to be filed with the County Assessor. Please verify with their office that they have updated their records. For a transfer of property ownership a new deed must be filed with the County Clerk before the name and address are changed in the Assessors records.

Where and How to Pay Taxes

Taxes may be paid at the Valencia County Treasurer’s Office located across the street from the Valencia County Courthouse. Payment can be made by cash, check, cashier’s check, money order or credit card (see below). Bank of the West will also accept property tax payments made by check, cashier’s check or money order at any of their branch locations in Los Lunas, from November 1st through December 10th. Only payments accompanied by a Valencia County Treasurer payment coupon and matching the amount due, indicated on the coupon, will be accepted by bank tellers. After December 10th property taxes must be paid at the Valencia County Treasurer’s Office. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH. Make your check payable to Valencia County Treasurer and write your Bill Number and Property ID number on your check.

A service fee will be charged for any return checks. All checks are processed through E-Check, Inc. If you receive a returned check, please contact E-Check at 505-883-5058. Only VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER credit cards are accepted. You can make credit card or ATM payments in person at the Treasurer’s Office. To send a credit card payment, via mail or fax, please fill in the Credit Card Authorization form.
