Planning & Zoning Commission

Department Mission Statement:

Overview

The general duties of the Planning Department are:

  1. Develop and update the Comprehensive Plan

  2. Assist the Planning and Zoning Commission with issues related to Land Use Planning.

  3. Assist the Board of Commissioners with issues related to Planning.

  4. Gather and interpret land use data.

  5. Update ordinances related to land use planning including Zoning and subdivision ordinances.

  6. Review land use proposals and make recommendations

  7. Review and approve Business licenses and Mobile home permits.
